Gil Valtierra
Coach Val started coaching high school football in 1995 and after various stints at different schools settled in at Calaveras High in 2009. Coach Val accepted the Defensive Line coach position for the varsity team at Calaveras High School in San Andreas, CA and remained a coach for Calaveras until 2021 during which, he coached several positions including Head Coach for the Junior Varsity and Defensive Coordinator for the varsity team.
Coach Val stepped away from coaching in 2022 and in 2023 started providing the play-by-play broadcast for all of the Calaveras High School Varsity Football games through the local hometown radio station KVGC 1340 and 96.5, The Voice of the Gold Country. At the conclusion of that first season of announcing, Coach Val started a Podcast dedicated to the game of football and specifically centered around Calaveras High School Football entitled “Let’s Talk Football, with Coach Val” which is currently available wherever you listen to Podcast.
